Bangkok, Thailand – July 1, 2025
AESOLAR concluded our “Smiling with the Sun” Thailand Innovation Roadshow with momentum, insight, and meaningful connections. Hosted at the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium, the event brought together industry leaders, EPCs, distributors, and technology partners to explore localized energy solutions for Thailand’s fast-evolving clean power landscape.
The day opened with a keynote by Joseph Tomkiewicz, International Energy Advisor at the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN), who highlighted the collaborative energy efforts between Germany and Thailand, emphasizing the importance of cross-border innovation in achieving carbon neutrality.

AESOLAR CEO Alexander Maier followed with an inspiring message, reaffirming the company’s foundational belief that strong partnerships are the engine of every energy transition. With over 22 years of German engineering experience and a presence in more than 100 countries, AESOLAR continues to deliver solar solutions that balance performance, durability, and sustainability.
Technology Built for the Tropics: PV Innovation for Real-World Conditions
One of the most impactful sessions came from Dr. Hamed Hanifi, AESOLAR’s Director of Technology & Innovation, who delivered a deep dive into AESOLAR’s R&D approach and module design philosophy. With Thailand experiencing twice the solar irradiation and three times the UV exposure compared to Germany, Dr. Hanifi emphasized that module performance under tropical stress conditions is critical.

To meet these challenges, AESOLAR’s product lines—such as the Meteor N-Type TOPCon Series—have been engineered for high heat and humidity tolerance. The CME132BDS, for example, delivers up to 725W of power output, making it ideal for high-efficiency C&I and utility deployments across Southeast Asia.
Dr. Hanifi also spotlighted the Horizon series, DIBt-certified for overhead installation like carports, and TerraV, the company’s vertical bifacial agri-PV module which recently received EUPD Research’s Top Innovation Award 2025. Together, these innovations embody AESOLAR’s belief that solar design should not only meet performance standards—but integrate elegantly into urban and agricultural environments.
Partnerships Forged: MoUs Signed for MW-Scale Projects
During the roadshow, AESOLAR formalized two MW-scale MoU agreements with Manee Power Co., Ltd. and Siam Solar Power Distribution, reinforcing its growing role in Thailand’s distributed energy market. These agreements directly support the government’s goal to deploy 24 GW of terrestrial solar capacity by 2037 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

Real-world voices also played a key role. Partners from Manee Power and LOOOP Energy Malaysia joined the program to share their project experience with AESOLAR, highlighting the importance of both product reliability and responsive collaboration.
Industry Dialogue: Powering Thailand’s PDP Through Innovation
The event also featured a 25-minute high-level panel discussion, where AESOLAR’s experts joined voices from across the value chain. Topics included Thailand’s PDP 2024–2037 roadmap, which targets 24 GW of solar capacity by 2037, and broader regional policy shifts shaping renewable investment.
Emerging technologies such as AI in energy management, floating PV, and BIPV were discussed as scalable enablers for both C&I and rural applications.AESOLAR’s Chao Zhang, R&D Director for APAC, and other guests tackled gaps in the solar supply chain, the role of workforce development, and how joint collaboration can accelerate Thailand’s clean energy goals.

A Mission Beyond Solar
The event’s emotional highlight came from Friso Poldervaart, founder of the Bangkok Community Help Foundation, who shared the story behind AESOLAR’s 2024 charity project—installing a solar system for a tuition-free school in Khlong Toei. Looking ahead, AESOLAR will further this initiative by donating solar power to the Khlong Toei community center this July, supporting clean energy access for Bangkok’s most underserved residents.

As the sun set on a successful day in Bangkok, one thing was clear: AESOLAR is more than a module brand—it is a long-term partner in Asia’s clean energy journey.

Stay tuned for more updates from Thailand and beyond.
