Yesterday, AESOLAR concluded its “High Five Philippines” event in Manila, bringing together EPC companies, installers, distributors, and project partners from across the country for a day focused less on promotion, and more on practical discussion. Much of the discussion centered around a simple question:
How do solar systems perform over time in tropical conditions like the Philippines?
Looking Beyond Efficiency Numbers
The event opened with remarks from AESOLAR’s Director of Technology & Innovation, Dr. Hamed Hanifi, who spoke about the company’s development path and ongoing work in module technology.

As the sessions continued, one topic repeatedly returned to the table:
In markets like the Philippines, performance is measured over years of exposure — not only under standard test conditions. High UV levels, humidity, salt mist near coastal regions, seasonal storms, and temperature fluctuations all influence long-term module behavior. Under these conditions, reliability becomes a technical issue rather than a marketing term. During the technical session, discussions focused on areas such as:
- Corrosion resistance
- Mechanical stability
- Humidity tolerance
- Long-term degradation behavior
- Stable energy yield under tropical stress
AESOLAR also shared early insights from its cooperation with Fraunhofer CSP, including observations related to partial shading and module behavior under complex shading environmental conditions. The upcoming Brandnew shade-resistant module, which will be formally introduced during Intersolar Germany later this year.

As the presentations became more detailed, the room grew quieter. Attendees leaned forward, taking notes, comparing installation experiences, and raising questions based on field conditions in the Philippines.
Experience From the Field
A practical perspective came from ENGR. AIRAM S. RAMOS III, Managing Director of PRIME TECH PHILIPPINES.
Rather than speaking in broad terms, he shared the company’s installation experience over the past year, during which PRIME TECH completed more than 7 MW of residential and small commercial projects using AESOLAR products. His comments focused mainly on consistency and long-term confidence — particularly important factors for projects exposed to demanding environmental conditions.
He summarized four reasons why PRIME TECH continues to cooperate closely with AESOLAR:
- Stable product quality
- Confidence in German engineering standards
- Suitability for premium residential applications
- Reliable operation under Philippine climate conditions

The discussion reflected a broader shift visible across Southeast Asia. EPC companies and installers are becoming increasingly cautious about long-term system reliability, warranty credibility, and operational stability over time.
Residential PV + ESS Discussions
Later in the afternoon, AESOLAR Senior Product Manager Kevin Tian introduced the company’s residential PV + ESS solutions. Interest in storage systems was noticeably strong.

In the Philippines, rising electricity costs and grid instability are gradually changing how residential customers think about solar installations. The discussion is no longer limited to rooftop generation alone, but increasingly includes:
- Backup capability
- Self-consumption optimization
- Energy management
- Hybrid system integration
- Long-term household energy stability
Installers in attendance raised practical questions about system compatibility, installation flexibility, and operational efficiency under local conditions.

From Germany to Southeast Asia

Throughout the day, discussions continued well beyond the formal presentations.
During the Q&A sessions, attendees exchanged views on installation practices, module durability, storage integration, and maintenance considerations specific to the Philippine market. AESOLAR also completed cooperation signings with:
SOLARHOMEPHIL CORPORATION

LVTOPSUN SOLAR CORPORATION

PRIME TECH PHILIPPINES

The signings themselves were simple, without excessive ceremony. As long-term cooperation in the solar industry is still built gradually — through technical trust, consistent delivery, and shared field experience.

For AESOLAR, the event was less about introducing products, and more about continuing technical dialogue with a market that understands the realities of tropical solar deployment very well.
